I understand your feelings very well. I moved to California about 2 years ago and at the begining I missed all these and more at the begining. But Later I found some really good Turkish restaurants and markets around LA. And I knew couple of around San Francisco. Of course the taste is not same (I think because of too much industrial breeding of animals) but similar. 
If you wish, you can contact with me and I will suggest some places. Also there are some web sites which you can order all of these things which you missed. I hope it will help you little bit.</description>
